“The iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13019)”
We are noticing a growing trend on Jailbroken iPhone users who are experiencing a sync issue with itunes. The error code 13019 fix is somewhat a hit and miss. By now you have probably read about trying to de-selecting syncing voice memos and then attempting to sync them again. If that didnt work. its suggested to deselect syncing music, then videos, podcasts, etc. until a successful sync could be performed.
If all fails this might help…. Look through your voice memo app, if you find duplicate voice memos delete them and it should sync.
Please do NOT update your version of iTunes or firmware. as of now 4.0.2 firmware cannot be synced. Stick to what you know is working.
Using iTunes::9.2.0.61

I was having the problem and THOUGHT it was the jailbreak (4.0.1 on iPhone 4) when unchecking all the media types didn’t work. You were right, though, I went into my voice recorder and there were a bunch of recordings in there that were invalid, all with the same time (even though some were several minutes long). Deleting them (on the phone) took care of the problem for me. Thanks! I was about to give in, update to 4.1 and wait for the 4.1 JB!

Thank you SO much Timothy!! I tried everything possible and couldn’t get my iphone to sync. I read your post about the duplicate voice recordings and saw that I had a bunch of duplicates. I deleted the extra copies and voila! My phone synced!

Awesome! Thank you so much… it was the voice memo’s… none of the other suggestions worked. I removed all duplicate Voice Memo’s,and sync’d like a charm!

Thanks very much. Tried everything else suggested on other sites ie unchecking music, films etc etc. Your simple solution for going through voice memos worked a treat! It was surprising how many duplicates there was in there.
Saved me hours upon hours of grief and money from calling apple which I was going to do next.
Thanks very much

Finally….got some advice that worked!!! All of a sudden after syncing and getting the error 13019 message and my ipod wouldnt work at all on my phone. For me, my iphone wouldn’t even let me “not sync” music, videos etc… I would get the error message first. Sure enough…b/c of your post, I went to voice memos and there was a duplicate….deleted one of them and I am back in business. TOTALLY appreciate your advice…will check back next time I have an issue….BEFORE contacting apple.

I tried all the other fixes before coming upon your web site. As you described, I had hundreds of duplicate voice memo files. I went in and deleted most of them and made sure the ones I kept had no duplicates. I did it on the phone then on the PC as well when first try didn’t work. I had left a few duplicates behind. Now my phone is happy again.
This was really worrying me as I depend on my phone a lot and really enjoy the podcasts I subscribe to. I had also deleted my iPhoto cache file as per another web site instruction but that made no difference.
I think the error arrived when I installed Lion then had an interruption during a sync.
Many Thanks. 13109 error no more.
