If you are stuck in this situation. It is not possible with the latest iTunes to downgrade firmware and jailbreak. You have to wait until a jailbreak is released. Firmware 3.2.2 is the latest firmware and if you have not updated your iPad, DONT. stick to eariler firmwares for now.

“The iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13019)”

We are noticing a growing trend on Jailbroken iPhone users who are experiencing a sync issue with itunes. The error code 13019 fix is somewhat a hit and miss. By now you have probably read about trying to de-selecting syncing voice memos and then attempting to sync them again. If that didnt work. its suggested to deselect syncing music, then videos, podcasts, etc. until a successful sync could be performed.

If all fails this might help…. Look through your voice memo app, if you find duplicate voice memos delete them and it should sync.

Please do NOT update your version of iTunes or firmware. as of now 4.0.2 firmware cannot be synced. Stick to what you know is working.

Using iTunes::9.2.0.61

This screenshot does the game no justice. Serious HiDef in Epic Citadel.

So Keynotes speech today from Apple and the major peak of it all was the Demo for Epid Citadel for the Apple iPad, iPhone, Touch. The Game is seriously by far the best graphics we have seen on a phone. Wandering around a gorgeous castle and to what seems to be a medieval village, you get the feeling of adventure. Its reminiscent of the game Myst as far as its impressive. We will update once we have some gameplay hours invested into it. What a beautiful setting and peaceful music.

We get this question a lot and the answer is YES if…..

It is safe to jailbreak your iPhone IF you dont allow SSH. If you do allow SSH please change your password. Without that anyone with your iPhones IP could connect via SSH and delete whatever they wanted. What you need to do is read our previous post on how to do this. Jailbreaking your iPhone is safe if you also stay to known applications that have been reviewed and tested as functional. As a newcomer, I would recommend staying away from Cydia mods, unless you have read on the compatibility with your firmware. Its there that you could possibily brick your iPhone.

Ok So Locktopus is the new Locking App for your iOS4 Jailbroken iPhone. Although iProtect doesnt work for iOS 4… yet, we decided to make a comparision on the two.
We figured most of you are familiar with iProtect. iProtect truely is a better app when it came to locking programs. You only really need a number pad. Locktopus loads the whole QWERTY keypad which makes entering passwords on the fly more difficult. Having a number pad with iProtect gave you larger buttons for unlocking.

As shown in the pic above, locktopus allows you to lock and unlock apps from a hold on the home screen. We see this as an inconveinence since you might accidentally click the lock when just moving icons. iProtect only let you lock and unlock from the settings window.

Verdict

Locktopus is inferior to iProtect, but since iProtect is limited on compatibility, we will take what we can get.

Both are apps found on Cydia

I love iBlackList but its stripping the sms/mms detail and sending it through to your phone as Unknown sender. When you open the text message up, the information is there. So what is the remedy? How can you get your text messages to stop showing Unknown sender?

Well currently there is no fix for the issue However, if you download biteSMS from Cydia

Frash baby for your iPhone. Heres how. Flash is working on iphone 4. It is a beta however frash will work with iOS 4.0.1

>>Download link for Frash is here!<<

Simply follow the instructions posted below to get it working on your iPhone 4. According to the source, this version of Flash (Frash) will also work on iPhone 3GS, iPad and iPod touches. I have tested it on iPhone 4, running iOS 4.0.1 only and can confirm that it works. You can see it in the video embedded below.

The installation instructions..

Warning Note: Get your Flash mojo going on your iphone 4. This isnt rocket science, but if you mess it up, we are not responsible.

Step 1: Install OpenSHSH from Cydia by navigating to Search tab in Cydia and search for “OpenSHSH” then install it.
Step 2: Connect your iPhone with your computer. Make sure iTunes is not running.
Step 3: Install Cyberduck for Mac or WinSCP for Windows, and enter the following details to log in:
Cyberduck

Server: The IP address of your iPhone/iPad/iPod touch. Settings –> WiFi –>

Username: root

Password: alpine

Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)

User name: root

Password: alpine

Protocol: SCP

Step 4: Navigate to /var/root/Media directory and create a folder named “Cydia”. Inside this Cydia folder, create another folder and name it “AutoInstall” and copy the Frash-0.02.deb file (Download link at the beginning of the post)
Step 5: Restart your iPhone and enjoy Flash on your Safari browser by click on the “Flash” text to play the Flash content.

First off, you need to be running 4.0.1 Firmware. Facetime works, tethering works, Its all goodness! So how can you get native tethering back on your iphone? heres how:
1. Jailbreak your iPhone 4 on http://jailbreakme.com
2. Open Cydia and install OpenSSH. (Read our previous Post on how to change the password! This is a must people!)
3. Download wortel’s Patch for Commcenter 4.0.1 2G/3GS/4G 1.1-3 <see above file>
4. Use Cyberduck/WinSCP or another SFTP client to log into your iPhone.
5. In the Directory navigate to /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support, Back up your CommCenter to your PC/Mac in case things go bad.
6. Browse to /var/tmp and upload the file ccp401_1.1-3_wortel.deb there.
7. SSH into your iPhone and run the patch by typing:
dpkg -i /var/tmp/ccp401_1.1-3_wortel.deb
8. Reboot your phone

Now we need to either edit your carrier.plist or replace it with the one below (for AT&T only).
here’s the link to the carrier.plist file: http://www.multiupload.com/2OXWAIQ594 (AGAIN AT&T only)

Two Options at this point (Editing or replacing with the above file):

9. Use cyberduck or another SFTP program to connect to your iPhone and browse to:
/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundle.bundle/
(the above should be a symlink to /System/Library/Carrier Bundes/ATT_US.bundle/)

10. Download your carrier.plist file from your iPhone and save a copy of this original file, just in case.

11. Upload the replacement carrier.plist file
12. On your iPhone, open Settings / General / Reset and reset your network settings.

or

10. Download your carrier.plist file from your iPhone and save a copy of this original file, just in case.

11. Open the downloaded carrier.plist in your favorite text editor

12. Under APNS->APN look for something with your carriers WAP settings. Change the type mask integer from 4 to 53 – which should change allowing MMS to MMS, data and tethering. A explanation of these numbers is here. If this does not work, play around with the numbers until something works for your specific carrier.

13. save the file to a different location and replace the file on your phone.

14. On your iPhone, open Settings / General / Reset and reset your network settings.

Finally remember to turn on tethering in Settings->General->Network->Internet Tethering. You’ll need to either connect your phone to your computer via USB or have it already paired via bluetooth. The latest version of itunes is also needed.

To ensure you keep facetime, make sure the following lines are in your carrier.plist file you are using:

*NOTE* Due to the nature on how Facetime works (sending a special SMS to the number below) it appears t-mobile (and supposedly other carriers) are not handling the SMS properly. Please let me know if this works for your specific carrier.

For AT&T Only:

HTML Code:

<key>PhoneNumberRegistrationGatewayAddress</key>
<string>28818773</string>

For other carriers:

HTML Code:

<key>PhoneNumberRegistrationGatewayAddress</key>
<string>00447786205094</string>

*Due to the way Facetime communicates with Apple, text message charges may appear for unsupported carriers

If your using a older IPCC file or custom carrier bundles keep note that for iphone4, carrier png files need to be double the resolution. All you have to do is make new logo’s with a higher resolution and add @2x on the end of the filename.
Like this:

Default_FSO_CARRIER_BASE.png

Default_FSO_CARRIER_BASE@2x.png

FSO_CARRIER_BASE.png

FSO_CARRIER_BASE@2x.png//32
